Prayer

"And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed." (James 5: 15-16, KJV)

I believe prayer is very important, that there is much power in prayer.  The Bible talks a lot about prayer and puts a high value in it. It instructs and encourages us to pray a lot and to pray not just for ourselves but to pray for others as well. We see that Jesus gave us the example of praying for others. Jesus prayed for Peter before Peter's denial of Jesus. We can find this in Luke 22: 31-32. Jesus' statement appears to be both a warning and an encouragement. A warning in that Jesus tells him of Satan's desire against him, and an encouragement in that Jesus tell Peter He has prayed for him. Jesus has also prayed for us, His followers. We can read of this in John 17. Jesus prays for His current disciple at that time in verses 6-19 and then He prays for His future disciple in verses 20-23. The Bible also tells us to pray for others in James 5:15-16, the text at the top of this page. I encourage you to pray much and not only for yourself and your needs but also for God's will and for others. Please join us in presenting our prayer requests to be prayed for and praying for the prayer requests that others present.

Answered Prayers:

  • From Jesse Smith: Please pray for me as I have just had Covid and am still recovering from some of the effects of it. One of the main ones is that I am having a hard time getting much sleep. I think I am only getting about 4-5 hours of sleep a night, and that is much lower than I am used to. Thank you for your prayers.
